From requirements to specification
Start with the space or assembly where the material will be used. Specify dimensions, quantity, units, colour and project requirements. Provide a drawing or schedule; use a photograph as a reference, not an exact specification.
Compare like-for-like offers
Compare the same scope, units and delivery terms. Clarify packaging, transport, customs costs, taxes and installation separately; do not assume they are included. Agree acceptable substitutions and the sample-approval process.
Before confirming an order
Request documents for the actual selected product and check applicable requirements with the responsible specialist. Record the specification, schedule, quality checks and damage-handling process in agreed documents. Price and timing become commitments only through the relevant contract.
